Research in Faboratory focused on creating a new type of actuator that takes advantages of soft material. By encasing an airtight case in a flexible material with cables sewn in, an actuator that can change its volume and direction is created. This can increase adaptability and dexterity without the need for a complicated driving mechanism, leading to reduced weight and cost.
